ℹ Ginseng is derived from a plant of ancient origin with medicinal properties. The active ingredient of this plant are the ginsenosides. These substances are extracted from the roots, which require a relatively long maturation period (about 6 years). They possess important phytotherapeutic properties: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-cancer.
There are different varieties of ginseng depending on subspecies and used processing methods, and have therefore slightly different therapeutic properties, although the effects are similar. The best known subspecies are the American Ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) and Asian or Korean Ginseng (Panax Ginseng). The American variety presents a more modest stimulatory effect when compared to the Asian one. See More
